The finale of the 1995 Summer Tour at Soldier Field kicked off with Touch of Grey, and featured many Dead standards, including Shakedown Street and Promised Land. Phil Lesh’s stunning version of Unbroken Chain wowed the crowd in the second set, and another Lesh composition, Box of Rain, closed the night, the tour, and the era of Jerry Garcia. As the lyrics go, “Such a long, long time to be gone and a short time to be there”.
